Welcome to “The Thinking Reed”. You may be one of the few who accidentally stumbled here and hopefully you will visit often though I wouldn’t blame you if you never return. I might not return myself in which case there wouldn’t much reason for you to return either.
I’m not sure how people will find this weblog. I’m not sure if I want people to find it. Which reminds me of the eternal question: “if a man writes a blog and nobody reads it, does it ___” you fill in the blank.
Why did I choose to start a blog? I guess in the last year, I’ve started reading several blogs and I like the idea of them. I’m terrible at verbally expressing what I believe and only awful and written expression. So this may be a good way for me to organize my usually disparate thoughts into hopefully some semi-coherent mess. I think deep down, it might be vanity though – maybe I can start a blog that will be popular, affect people, and change the world. Maybe for the better even. Well, I’m sure many people start their blogs with delusions of grandeur and end up forgetting about them after a month or two; I suspect that’s the crowd I belong too.
What will this blog be about? I’m not sure yet, but I suspect it will be about what I have to say. I’ve noticed in the past decade that I agree with very few people on very few things. I’d like to think that that’s the case because maybe I’ve got something halfway correct to say. Or maybe I’m just dead wrong. I don’t know but hopefully this blog will allow me to express a previously unvoiced opinion and maybe even find a soul or two that agrees with me. Okay, that may be pretentious to say that I have something original to voice. Humans have been around for a while and I don’t think there are many more original ideas and if there are I suspect they aren’t very good ones. However there are a lot of, what I think, good ideas that aren’t so much in circulation anymore. Or if they are, it is for the purpose of their denigration. And then there are a lot of current bad ideas that are highly regarded. And then there’s a lot of nonsense too that I will attempt to wade through.
So the subjects I may write on (in no particular order):
1. Religion
2. Culture
3. Philosophy
4. Politics
5. Economics
6. My current reads
7. Science
8. ?
What I will write on those subjects, I know not. I don’t even know much about them so I apologize in advance for the drivel to come.
Well, here goes…

I changed the link you left at The Discursionists (www.thediscursionists.wordpress.com) so it now works. Hopefully people will bounce back and forth between here and there.
It looks like you have some interesting stuff here, so good luck!
